Citizen Pets of the Week: Hank and Tigera

Excelsior Springs, Mo. (February 2, 2025) – Welcome to another edition of Pet of the Week! This week, we’re introducing two adorable siblings, Hank and Tigera, who belong to the Ward family.

Hank is a two-year-old Boxer mix, and Tigera, a lovely tabby cat, is almost one. The Ward family wasn’t looking for another dog when they met Hank, but Jaime Ward’s mom brought him over to their house, and the rest is history. Jaime describes Hank as “very loving,” sharing that his favorite things are “his tiny humans (the Wards’ kids, ages two and eight) and cuddling.” Like many big dogs, Hank thinks he’s a lap dog, and the Wards wouldn’t have it any other way!

Tigera joined the family when Jaime’s brother’s cat had a litter of kittens. Jaime says, “I knew when she was born that she would make a great addition to our family.” Some of Tigera’s favorite things include “cuddling the baby (the Wards’ two-year-old), treats, and chasing Hank’s tail.”

At first, the family was a little apprehensive about having a dog and a cat under one roof, but when they brought Tigera home, Jaime shared, “Hank was more scared of her than anything!” Now, however, Hank and Tigera are the best of friends.

A big thank you to Jaime for sharing Hank and Tigera with us! Stay tuned next week to meet another furry citizen!
