Citizen Pet of the Week: Phoebe

Excelsior Springs, Mo. (Feb. 9, 2025) – It’s time for another edition of Citizen Pet of the Week! This week, meet Phoebe, a 1.5-year-old dachshund owned by Kaiya Potter.

Kaiya’s husband surprised her with Phoebe when she was only a few months old. He knew Kaiya had been wanting a puppy for a long time, so it made the gift even sweeter.

Kaiya describes Phoebe as “a little dog with a big heart.” Phoebe goes on daily walks around Excelsior and “gets so excited to meet new people.” She also loves playing with other dogs, and she especially loves it when they chase her. Don’t let her little legs fool you; Phoebe is “super-fast!” If you are ever able to catch her at the dog park, she is the life of the party!

Phoebe has a lot of energy, but Kaiya shared how at the end of the day, Phoebe is “a huge snuggler.” Sharing Phoebe “loves being warm and cozy with her favorite people.” Her favorite toys are a squeaky pig toy and a pickle toy that smells like vanilla.

Kaiya shared her favorite thing about Phoebe is her “huge personality and that she isn’t afraid to let me know how she feels.” Saying, “She can be a bit sassy sometimes, but she also grunts when she’s nice and cozy.” Something Kaiya finds adorable.

A big thank you to Kaiya for sharing Pheobe with the Citizen. Stay tuned next week to meet another furry citizen.
