Community Effort for Road Safety: In anticipation of these events, the Excelsior Citizen’s Facebook Group will serve as a hub for reporting road conditions. The group encourages citizens to share updates, fostering a community-led effort to keep everyone informed and safe.
School District’s Weather Protocol: Dr. Mark Bullimore, Deputy Superintendent for Excelsior Springs School District, issued a statement on January 3, 2024, outlining the school district’s inclement weather procedures. Parents and guardians are advised to stay informed about potential school closures and changes in schedule.

The Excelsior Springs Parents as Teachers group has announced via Facebook that any scheduled group activities or play dates will be canceled if schools close due to the inclement weather. Furthermore, home visits are set to either go virtual or be rescheduled, ensuring the safety of families and staff.
The Excelsior Springs Community Center (ESCC) announced in the Fall that if there was any winter weather that affects travel, the ESCC may do the following:
• Delay the opening of the Center and cancel all morning group classes and child watch
• Evaluate road conditions and cancel morning/evening group classes and child watch
• Close the Center for the day.
