The Excelsior Springs Tigers baseball team is roaring with excitement as they have advanced to the final four of the Missouri State High School Activities Association (MSHSAA) Class 4 Baseball Championships. After falling just one game short of the final four last year, the Tigers are determined to bounce back and make a strong push for the championship title.
In a heartfelt show of support, dozens of friends, family, teachers, and community members gathered at the high school at noon today to bid farewell to the team in a spirited send-off. The Excelsior Springs Police Department also joined in, providing an escort as the Tigers embarked on their journey.
The team received a special surprise from Wanda Dusek and her family, who generously funded a charter bus in honor of Wanda’s late husband, Jim Dusek. Jim, a devoted baseball enthusiast and a true fan of the Excelsior Springs Tigers, would have been proud to see the team’s accomplishments and their dedication to the sport he loved.
