Saturday saw another successful installment of Kids As Vendors, a bi-weekly event empowering local youth to explore their entrepreneurial spirit. The community-centered program allows children and teenagers to create their own businesses, from conception to execution. Eleven Excelsior Springs High School Band and Choir students traveled to Columbia, Missouri, this weekend to compete at the 72nd Annual Missouri State High School Activities Association (MSHSAA) State Music Festival. All eleven returned as winners. The prestigious event featured solo and ensemble performances by the state’s most talented high school musicians, and qualifying for the competition is a significant honor.

The Excelsior Springs High School Student Council held its semi-annual bingo fundraising event this past Monday. This year’s spring bingo, or “Springo” event, raised over $2,000 for the student council, with more than 180 sets of bingo cards sold.
