Arthur Earl Washburn, 1949-2023

Earl was born on Aug. 16, 1949 to Betty and Gene Washburn in Brewyn, IL. He graduated from  Lawson  High School in 1968 and then enlisted in the  Marine Corp. and was a Vietnam veteran.  He served 4 years before making his home in Excelsior Springs  MO.

Earl loved doing things outside and especially riding his motorcycle. He worked for several years as a truck driver which he also enjoyed. He loved playing with his dogs. Earl was very much a family man and enjoyed spending time with his children and Grandchildren.

Earl was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Cloterillo LaRocca. He is survived by his wife of the home and by his children Lee Washburn of Pleasant Valley, MO., Allen Washburn (Stevie), Sarah Maddox  (Travis) of Excelsior Springs,  MO, Holly Washburn of Liberty, MO, 10 Grandchildren, 1 Great Grandson. He is also survived by his brother Roy Washburn (Kathy) of Fleming, MO, and sister Betty Wetzel of Richmond, MO. Along with many nieces and nephews.

Earl will be missed by many, especially his family! We love and miss you very much!

The family is holding a celebration of life on July 8, 2023 at the Eagles Lodge in Excelsior Springs from 3pm-5pm. Come share your stories and memories with the family!
