There was a lot going on in Excelsior Springs this week, with the Christmas kickoff and events at the schools before Thanksgiving vacations kicked in. Just prior to the Christmas parade in downtown there was an injury accident on Isley Blvd at the intersection of Temple. Known for having poor sightline due to the parked cars along the street.
The Excelsior Springs Job Corps Center is thrilled to announce that three of its students received high school diplomas at a ceremony held on November 21 on its Missouri campus. Pictured alongside instructor Joanne Pratt are (left to right) Felix Buregeya, Zeia Ahmadi, and Nevaeh Lee Wheatcraft. Congratulations on your outstanding achievement!

Elkhorn Elementary reported collecting 50 boxes and 1,281 items for the Good Samaritan Center! Elkhorn Elementary donates 1,096 pounds of food to the Good Samaritan Center before their holiday break for Thanksgiving. Receiving first place was the third grade with 460 items collected, winning them a movie and popcorn party!
In a surprise to us all, Lori Bales of Blooms and Things Excelsior Springs, announced her purchase of Excelsior Floral on Thompson Ave. in the downtown. Marvin and Nancy Shepherd will be helping to transition Lori into the space, so everyone is welcome to come and give thanks to their years of service to the community.
Following developments on Donnici’s Sack Lunches and Catering as they prepare their building on Kearney Road to open a restaurant. They’ve been offering pick up meals and catering in the meantime. Watch their Facebook Page for announcements and what they’re offering weekly!
