The Aquatics Center’s Special Projects Director Jesse Hall sent a weekly update of what has happened this week and what’s to come as they begin the final stages of the project.
Now that water has been added to the pool, they have installed a chemical system. Final wiring on equipment took place, the Spray Pad fixtures were put in place, and the storage building steel was set. Black dirt was placed around the pool in preparation for landscaping. An exhaust fan was installed in the mechanical room. Royal Construction, the City of Excelsior Springs, and SFS Architecture/Water Technology did a walkthrough.
This week training on the mechanical equipment will take place. The chemical system will be tested and treatment of the pool will start. Also being tested is the circulation system and the pumps will be turned on. Work on the storage building will continue while miscellaneous pool deck work will be finalized. This week a permanent fence will also be installed. The Clay County Health Department has been scheduled for an inspection and an additional sidewalk and final grade will take place on the parking lot.
