The American Legion Post 236 of Excelsior Springs held a Pancake Breakfast fundraiser Saturday, December 3rd at the American Legion. The event is being done in partnership with the Smithville Legion Post 58 and the Marine Corps. There was $700 raised for Toys for Tots, which will be used to buy gifts for kids. They sold over 40 plates of food and in the spur of the moment, a hat was passed during Bingo and raised another $130. Attendees brought toy donations, which filled the collection box! Santa and Mrs. Claus also made an appearance! Watch for more upcoming fundraisers to benefit the community by our folks at the Legion.
