A Week of Heartwarming Goodwill in Excelsior Springs

In the past week, Excelsior Springs has been a heartwarming testament to the spirit of community and generosity. Amidst the festive season, our town has witnessed an outpouring of goodwill, as citizens came together to spread joy and kindness in remarkable ways.

The Excelsior Citizen Facebook Group, an online community platform, was abuzz with messages of gratitude. Numerous neighbors were pleasantly surprised to find anonymous treats left at their doorsteps.

In a display of honesty and community spirit, over eight posts were made by residents who received wrong deliveries, each eagerly seeking to ensure these packages reached their rightful owners.

A lost phone found its way to customer service, thanks to the honesty of one of our citizens. This act of kindness saved someone from the distress of losing a valuable possession.

The holiday spirit was further amplified by the delightful sight of candy canes and an appreciative note left at a house praised for having the best Christmas lights. This display of recognition brings joy to the heart.

The Kennedy Family added to the festive cheer with their spectacular holiday lights synced to music, creating a magical experience for everyone. Their effort in bringing holiday spirit to the community each year in their own little way is inspiring! Be sure to go by their house at 1705 Aspen Lane and tune into the radio to see their free light show!

Adding to the fun, Santa Claus himself made an appearance, riding a bike through Downtown Excelsior Springs. He was also spotted at Sonic and was seen driving around downtown in a classic 1931 Coupe!

In a humorous twist, rumors of the Grinch being on the loose added an element of playful excitement to the holiday celebrations.

Acts of kindness, both big and small, were abundant. One woman helped another in pain to load groceries into her car. Several citizens showed empathy by letting a mother with crying children move ahead in lines, offering her a quicker respite.

In an extraordinary act of generosity, a man surprised a stranger by paying for all her groceries. This random act of kindness exemplifies the spirit of giving that defines our community.

The local Job Corps Center’s appeal for help in adopting students without a home for Christmas was met with an overwhelming response. Within minutes, all students were adopted, and the community went further, donating essential items and comforts.

Bill and Staci Griffey’s donation of 40 high-quality blankets ensured each student received a warm gift for the winter, a true gesture of care and thoughtfulness.

This week has been a testament to the spirit of kindness in Excelsior Springs. While these acts of generosity during the holiday season are exceptional, it’s heartening to recognize that such compassion and community spirit are a daily occurrence here. In Excelsior Springs, every day is an opportunity to spread joy and lend a helping hand, making it a truly special place to call home.
