There are over forty Christian churches in the community and with this being Holy Week, there are local special celebrations leading up to Easter Sunday. Whether they be religious services or entertainment for children in the way of bunnies and egg hunts, we have done our best to collect all of the Easter activities that have been shared in recent weeks. Candyman – Visit from the Easter Bunny
Stop by Candyman in Lawson for some treats and a visit from the Easter Bunny on Saturday, April 8th from 1:00pm-2:30pm.
Missouri City Elementary School – Easter Egg Hunt
Join Missouri City Elementary School on Friday, April 7th from 4:00pm-5:00pm at the school at 700 Main Street, Missouri City. Free entry and all are welcome to attend.
Excelsior Springs Baptist Church – Spring-a-Palooza
Join the Excelsior Springs Baptist Church, 1500 Rosalea St, for their annual Spring-a-Palooza on April 8th from 11:00am-1:00pm at the church. There will be a bounce house, crafts, Easter story, snacks and Easter egg hunt.
VCU Church – Easter Sunday
VCU Church invites all to attend their Easter Sunday service beginning with Breakfast at 9:00am (all welcome) and service at 10:00am. They will begin their service 30 minutes early to incorporate an extended worship service and presentation by the children’s ministry.
Orrick Christian Church – Easter Services
Orrick Christian Church, 402 E. South Front Street, Orrick, MO, invites you to celebrate the Resurrection of Our Risen Savior for a Maundy Thursday service at 6:30pm on April 6th. Easter Sunday there will be a number of activities taking place including:
• 6:30am – Sunrise Easter Service at Southpoint Cemetery
• 7:00am – Easter Breakfast
• 8:15am – Easter Traditional Worship
• 9:45am – Children’s Easter Egg Hunt (preschool and elementary)
• 10:45am – Easter Contemporary Worship
Barbee Church – Easter Celebrations
Join Barbee Church, 501 Tiger Drive, Excelsior Springs, on Easter Sunday for an Egg Hunt/Games at 9:00am, with continental breakfast, pictures with the Easter bunny, Resurrection eggs, and worship at 10:45am.
Homesteading in Missouri – Easter Extravaganza and Small Animal Sale
There will be an Easter Extravaganza and Small Animal Sale at the Ray County Fairgrounds in Richmond on April 8th and 9th with crafts, food, entertainment, and blacksmith demonstrations. There will be an Easter Egg Hunt and Pony Rides. 10:00am-5pm both days. Free General Admission, some attractions do cost extra.
Liberty Farm Equestrian Center – Easter Egg Hunt and Photos
Join the Liberty Farm Equestrian Center for an Easter Egg Hunt and Photos on April 8th from 10:00am to 2:00pm. Fun for the whole family, kids can meet “Easter Butter” the pony! Located at 2015 Hillview Rd, Liberty.
