Fall is officially here and to get things kicked off right we’ve put together a list of seven area festivals and events to get you into the spirit of the season!
Liberty Fall Festival

The festival has over 200 artists & vendors and two stages packed with entertainment from regional and local artists! Kids of all ages can play in the carnival. And, of course, the shopping is second to none with art, unique gifts, handmade quilts, jewelry, pottery, and even treats for your furry friends. What’s a festival without great food?! Our food vendors have it covered! Attendees will enjoy a wide variety of food from funnel cakes to turkey legs. Farmer’s Market fans can even pick up some fresh produce! Admission is free!
Excelsior Springs Oktoberfest
Saturday, September 25 – 10 AM – 9 PM

“Come see what’s brewing” at the Excelsior Springs 2021 Oktoberfest! Join in the celebration and you can expect to experience a day full of bed racing, barrel rolls, live entertainment, street vendors and a variety of craft beers! Get your team together and be a part of the bed racing tradition! Cash prizes and custom made trophies go home with the top three fast and furious teams! We promise that Oktoberfest 2021 will be absolutely “fabelhaft”!

Join Kearney’s 10th Annual Octoberfest celebration moved to your local downtown! Stay tuned as we publish a full day of activities and events for you to enjoy. Activities include live music, local vendors, kid’s carnival, games, and more! Full schedule to be released soon. All proceeds of the event will go to three local charities, the Kearney Food Pantry, Fulfillment House, and the Kearney Enrichment Council.
Living History Festival (Lathrop)

Step back into the 1800’s at our annual Living History Festival! For THREE full days, you can experience the past – enjoy stirring apple butter, dipping candles, churning butter, indulge in delicious apple fritters & apple cider. Take a class in our One Room School and play old fashioned games in the schoolyard. Enjoy teepees and other demonstrations from the Indian Council of Many Nations. Don’t forget to stop by our General Store for old-fashioned goodies and much, much more!

Bring the family and join us for this educational and fun event! Watkins Woolen Mill State Park & State Historic Site and Missouri State Park Rangers are partnering with Lawson Fire and Police, Excelsior Springs Fire and Police, Kearney Fire and Police, Missouri State Highway Patrol, the Missouri Department of Conservation, Clay County Sheriff Department, and the Missouri Department of Natural Resources Hazmat Team to host a safety fair, interpretive activities and a trunk-or-treat at the swim beach parking lot.
