Excelsior Springs is starting Fall off right with a whole host of activities planned throughout September and into the first of October! We don’t look for things to slow down, either! There are a lot of great people doing great things keeping us all busy! Here’s a collection of 20 local events coming up that you won’t want to miss!

Chiefs Flag Sale at Excelsior Springs McDonald's

September 4 | Starting at 6:00 AM (until sold out)

ReeceNichols Realtors Excelsior Springs will be selling Chiefs flags at the Excelsior Springs McDonald’s to support Ronald McDonald House Charities. Flags typically sell out by 8:00 or 9:00 AM, so bring your cash early to grab a flag and support a great cause!

Excelsior Springs City-Wide Garage Sales

September 6-8 | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Join the community for the Fall City-Wide Garage Sale in Excelsior Springs! This is the perfect opportunity to declutter your home and find new treasures. A sales list and an interactive map with descriptions will be shared soon, along with a printable map available the week of the event.

Residents can post their sales and details on the event page or promote them in the Excelsior Citizen Facebook Group. Please use the Excelsior Springs Swap Shop group for individual item sales.

Lyrics on the Lawn: Double Jointed Live Music

September 6 | 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM

Don’t miss the grand finale of the inaugural Lyrics on the Lawn series! The final performance features Double Jointed Music, delivering a mix of 60’s-2000’s Rock, Country, Americana, and Classic Rock.

Bring your own blankets and lawn chairs for comfortable seating; however, no pets are allowed. Please note that coolers, outside alcoholic beverages, and BYOB are strictly prohibited to ensure a safe and enjoyable event for everyone.

Come and enjoy an evening of great music in a relaxed atmosphere. We appreciate your cooperation and look forward to seeing you there!

Grape Stomp, Vendor Market, Live Music, Lawn Games, and Food Trucks at Fence Stile Vineyards

September 7 | 1:00 PM – 5:00 PM

Join us at Fence Stile Winery’s Tasting Room for an afternoon of shopping, games, and live music! Browse a diverse selection of local vendors offering clothing, accessories, home decor, jewelry, cosmetics, arts, and crafts. Enjoy lawn games and live music as you explore the market.

Participate in the grape stomp by donating $35 to support the LAUGHH Foundation, which includes a drink of your choice. Kids under 10 can stomp for free! The Tasting Room will be open for wine tastings, and food trucks will be on-site to keep you fueled.

Come sip on wine, shop for unique items, and enjoy a fun-filled day with family and friends!

Michael Jackson Tribute Concert at Firefly Events

September 7 | 6:30 PM

Experience “A Thriller Spectacular: A Night With the King of Pop” as Firefly Events presents Danny Dash Andrews, America’s top Michael Jackson tribute artist. Enjoy an evening of iconic hits followed by a meet and greet with the performer. Dinner is included with your ticket, and drinks will be available for purchase before the show. This event is suitable for all ages.

Slightly Off Band - Tribute to 80’s Rock

Don’t miss the Slightly Off Band’s revamped “Legends of Rock” tribute to 80’s rock! With a new theme, fresh songs, and a new tribute, this concert promises to be a hit.

Comprehensive Planning Pop-Up Event

The City of Excelsior Springs invites the public to a Pop-Up Event to learn more about the comprehensive planning process and provide feedback. As part of developing a new comprehensive plan, this “Conversation on the Lawn” event is an opportunity for the community to share their vision for the future of Excelsior Springs. Your input is crucial to shaping the city’s future.

1st Annual Excelsior Springs Irish Festival

September 14 | 11:00 AM – 8:00 PM
at Shamrock Hills Vineyard and Winery, 12300 Shoemaker Rd, Excelsior Springs, MO

Celebrate Irish culture at the inaugural Excelsior Springs Irish Festival! Enjoy a day filled with live music, artisan crafts, delicious food, and family-friendly entertainment. Highlights include performances by Eddie Delahunt, Into the Sun, and The Canterberries, as well as magic shows, a Mr. and Ms. Legs contest, and a Q&A about a 2025 trip to Ireland.

Touch-A-Truck at ESCC

Bring the family to the Excelsior Springs Community Center (ESCC) for Touch-A-Truck, a free event for all ages! Explore and climb into a variety of vehicles, including fire trucks, police cars, a Zoo-Mobile, and more. Meet the operators of these impressive machines and enjoy food trucks on-site.

Excelsior Springs Night Out Against Crime

Craft beer lovers, unite! Join us for Mug Shots, where you can sample over 20 different craft beers while exploring the eateries, drinkeries, shops, boutiques, and galleries of Downtown Excelsior Springs.

Participate in the annual poker run for a chance to win 50% of the pot! Tickets are $30 for general admission. Upgrade to VIP for $45, which includes early check-in and a ‘Kegs & Eggs’ brunch at 11:00 AM before the event begins.

This event is a great opportunity to meet and connect with the dedicated officers who serve our community. Oktoberfest - Fall Festival - Free Family Fun!

Celebrate the fall season at The Overlook at Crystal Lakes, just 45 minutes from Kansas City, MO! Enjoy a day filled with autumnal fun, featuring live music and performances, an arts and crafts market, and a beer garden with brews from Atlas Saloon. Families can enjoy lawn games, pick the perfect pumpkin from the patch, and take photos in a fall-themed area.

This event is free and open to the public. Bring your lawn chairs, picnic blankets, and friends to enjoy the beautiful outdoor setting and festive atmosphere.

Rotary Grocery Grab at Excelsior Springs Price Chopper

October 12 | 9:00 AM
McKeever’s Price Chopper, Excelsior Springs

Join the Excelsior Springs and Lawson Rotary Clubs for a thrilling Grocery Grab event! A $10 donation enters you into a drawing for a chance to spend 5 minutes filling your cart with groceries at Price Chopper. Restrictions apply—no pharmacy, alcohol, or tobacco products, and the meat section is limited to 1 minute with a maximum of 1 package per cut.

Five finalist tickets will be drawn and notified a week in advance. While four finalists will receive prizes, only one will participate in the Grocery Grab. Must be present on October 12th to win.

Join us for the 3rd Annual Tat 2 You Car, Truck, and Bike Show! Registration opens at 9:00 AM with a $10 fee. Judging will take place from noon to 1:00 PM. The event will feature food trucks, a bounce house, raffles, and various vendors.

Bring your vehicle, enjoy the fun, and see some amazing rides!

Sanderson Sisters Meet and Greet at Firefly Events

October 12 | 2:00 PM – 3:30 PM

Get ready for a spooky good time at the Halloween Ball! The Sanderson Sisters are flying into town for a wickedly fun meet and greet, perfect for kids and families. Dress up in your best costume and enjoy an interactive performance, group games, and plenty of photo opportunities with the famous witches.

Enjoy an evening of festive fun, including Trunk or Treating with creatively decorated trunks, delicious treats from local food trucks, and a variety of activities and games for all ages. Costumes are encouraged, so show off your Halloween spirit!

Important Information:

  • The Wellness Cafe and Community Center restrooms will be open, but the rest of the Center will be closed.
  • Parking is available at the High School PAC Parking Lot starting at noon on October 19th.
